Contemporary capital's global crisis seems to be here to stay; simultaneously the threat that the crisis will eventually "hit for real" permeates everyday life. A life where most are on stand-by to be called in on short notice. This project-based life becomes the last remaining foundation for all forms of play and recreation in a generally dissolved existence where almost everything is temporary, and in which an increasing private indebtedness seems to compensate for the specter of a lost security. Those gasping for fresh air have simply to accommodate themselves in the dream of getting all those future possible scholarships, that might be earned if one walks down the line where friendship and criticism are speculated with as the interchangeable commodities that they are. The Ghost Castle darkens the chimaera of the comfortable existence in a 21-sqm condominium in downtown Stockholm.

Marika Troili and Giorgio Giusti collaborates under the name Amount. Within the practice of Amount ideas of a potential community are intermingled with the experience of a failed collaboration. Supported by an institutional encouragement to produce something beyond the "individual subject" this failure reveals a capitalistic sociality running on empty. The idea that collectivity itself generates a non-alienated post-political community must be abandoned ... The Ghost Castle is the positive of the end of the undead world as we know it.
